Since we have known the joyful sound
And have the only Saviour found,
let us with joy his saving name
Throughout the earth to all proclaim.
Allowed of God to hold in trust
The gospel light ‘tis only just
That we our utmost efforts use,
And far and wide this light diffuse.
Zeal should in all believers reign,
And love to Christ that zeal sustain;
His influence o’er our course preside,
His bright example be our guide.
Send out thy light and truth, O Lord,
Scatter thy saving truths abroad;
In every land thy word be sown,
By every soul the Savour known.
