Meeting Jesus in thy name,
At the throne of grace we bow;
Saviour, we thy promise claim,
Be with us and bless us now.
Thou hast said, if two agree,
God wilt hear united prayer,
For wherever two or three
Gather, thou art with them there.
Firm thy promise doth remain,
Thou art faithful, kind, and true;
We can never ask in vain,
Though our numbers be but few.
May thy Spirit, gracious Lord,
Teach us how and what to pray;
Then the strength and grace afford,
Which we supplicate to day.
